MDA Research Momentum Award Nominations
Entering its second year, this award honors early-career investigators whose groundbreaking work is advancing the field of neuromuscular disease research. We welcome nominations of exceptional scientists within seven years of their first faculty appointment whose innovative research aligns with MDA’s mission to develop treatments and improve the lives of those affected by neuromuscular disease. This award is open to investigators regardless of nationality or country of institution- both US-based and international investigators are eligible to apply.
We encourage the community to nominate deserving colleagues — or to put forward their own work for consideration.
Nominations should highlight how the candidate’s work demonstrates:
- Innovation and originality in scientific research, with clear potential to make a meaningful impact on the neuromuscular disease field
- Progress toward independent leadership, exemplified by initiative, mentorship, collaboration, and contributions that inspire and advance the research community
- Engagement in MDA-supported programs, community partnerships, or educational initiatives that strengthen the neuromuscular research ecosystem
By recognizing these rising stars, MDA celebrates not only scientific excellence but also the importance of collaboration, community engagement, and education in shaping the future of neuromuscular research.
